I do and don’t love you.

Isn’t that happiness?

How can it be,

if you don’t love me?

I do and don’t want to be near you.

Isn’t that good?

How can it be,

If you don’t want to be near me?

I do and don’t want to see you smile.

Isn’t that…

No. It’s nothing.

You’re words they sting.

If you don’t love me

And you don’t want to be near me

And you don’t want to see me smile.

I think we can both agree

This is no longer worthwhile.

Author's Note: The first stanza of this poem was used from a found poem we watched in class. This was a writing exercise we did in my Writing Poetry class.
