Michael Joseph Tarchala is a charming, witty, young man. He loves Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, the show the Fosters (even though I've never seen him watch that and I always see him watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and making people smile.

I can walk into any building on campus and hear his voice around the corner. I get so excited just because I get to be in his presence. Anytime I see Michael he goes out of his way to say hello and give me a hug. Fun fact: Michael Tarchala gives THE BEST hugs! During the school year, Michael, his roomate Brycen, and I would always have show/movie nights. Seeing them almost everyday was the best part of my day.

Michael is a ray of sunshine that lights up any room he walks into. Whenever I see him, I can't help but smile because of all the love he radiates for the people around him. I specifically remember I was having a really bad day, and then I saw Michael. He didn't even know I was having a bad day but he instantly made it better. We hadn't seen each other the day before, which is super weird because Augie is such a small campus I normally see most of my friends at least in passing. However, that day I didn't see Michael. So when we saw each other the next day, he was said

"I feel like there is Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin Michelle. I have to get my daily dose of Vitamin Michelle."

If that's not the nicest darn thing anyone has ever said, I just-

But that is just the kind of friend Michael is. He is supportive beyond belief, always checking on his friends and making sure they're doing well. Don't worry, we check on Michael too! Michael is the first person to crack a joke whether it be hilarious or awful it's worth it everytime.

Michael isn't just my friend. According to a buzzfeed quiz, and our perfect chemistry, Michael and I are soulmates. We were destined to be friends. Pretty much anything can happen, and nothing can change the fact that Michael and I are going to be this way forever.

"I wanted to be friends because of your personality. You have such a bright and passionate personality and I knew we clicked when we first met," Michael said. "Our personalities mesh perfectly together,"

and I couldn't agree more! If you ask Michael, his favorite memory of us is when we were choreographing a dance for the High School Musical 2 Shadow Cast. He was Ryan and I was Chad.

"When I first found out we were gonna be Chad and Ryan I remember I literally smacked the wall because I jumped out of bed with excitement!"

However, my favorite memory is when we were actually performing! We successfully danced to I Don't Dance and the sexual tension between Chad and Ryan was on point. Michael is such a fun person to work with when it comes to dancing and musicals!

In fact, Michael is very involved with theater and has been in a plethora of shows and musicals including: 42nd Street, High School Musical, Annie, High School Musical 2, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, The Little Mermaid, Urinetown, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Choreographed Godspell, and Noises Off.

Michael is extremely talented! I had the privilege of being in Augie's 2018-2019 Spring Musical, How to Succeed in Business without really Trying with Michael. We looked good, really good! This show was super fun and Michael had a huge part in that! From silly jokes backstage to leading energetic warm ups, Michael is the heart of the show.

Whether it's a random photoshoot in Brunner, Dominoes at 1AM, or Hunger Games movie marathons, Michael is always there with open arms and a smile. Michael is dedicated and passionate, and the most positive person in my life. He is simply one of a kind.
